Folklore Friday: Symbols of Love

Hey guys, welcome to Learn Feng Shui, where you'll learn Feng Shui from a classical point of view, taking out the myth and superstition. Hey guys, on the theme of love still this week I'm going to cover popular symbols that are typically used in a more western version of Feng Shui to attract love. Hey guys, so I'm going to just start off by saying that I will give the link to the website I'm reading from, but honestly it's going to be a little bit of a cynical read from this website because I don't practice this type of Feng Shui called item placement. So this is actually very popular.

It's a more superstitious view of Feng Shui and I'll just start off by saying I don't want to place any items out. So if you've listened to this podcast for any length of time, you might notice that I never talk about oh, let's place an item here or an item there or this corner or this is your wealth corner or this is your relationship corner because it actually, that's not the way Feng Shui works. So again, this is just a different view of Feng Shui. I'm not saying this is better than any other. However, it is, it's just different and it's the type of Feng Shui that I practice.

And so I do take a little bit of a cynical view when I start looking at symbols and items and when it talks about using them for, you know, attracting love or wealth because I don't, I don't think of Feng Shui in that way. So let's just start by saying this guys. Let's start with this. In regards to life areas, the life areas is a very much a new age concept, a Western view of Feng Shui. There's no specific set life area within your house that, how's that or your business that actually corresponds to wealth.

And there's no set area within your home or business that corresponds to love or relationships. This is actually a very broad and kind of flawed view in my opinion because think of it this way. So when, when you want to attract love, when you want to attract relationship, when you want to attract, you know, wealth, maybe a new job, putting an item out is not going to help with that. So we all have our own specific personal energy that's, you know, very much unique to us. And we all respond to different ways and we all behave in different ways.

You know, we all have different experiences in life. And all of that shapes our response and our view of things. It shapes our work ethic and just, you know, every part of our life. And a lot of that is due to our personal energy. And if we're able to look at our personal energy, you know, our animal signs, our Chinese astrology, not only the animal signs, but also the elements and that go with that, then we're actually able to look at that and say, you know what?

So I'm lacking in this certain element and I have these certain animal signs that interact with each other in a certain way. So what it means is that, you know, perhaps in a relationship that, you know, maybe I'm prone to be more selfish. Well, instead of thinking of activating an area within your space to attract love, why don't you think about being more caring or giving? Why don't you use the flying star that actually corresponds to learning? And see, that's how Feng Shui actually works.

It's actually taking the action and doing the action that we're lacking, you know, taking the action that we're lacking, take the initiative, taking that, taking back our power. Because when you give something to a lucky object and say, I'm going to put this here so it can do this for me, we're giving all our power away to a lucky object. And it doesn't work that way. We actually have the power inside of us and everything that we may be missing or lacking in life can actually be learned. And for that reason, I actually love to activate my intelligence areas.

And again, this is unique to everybody because this is just, it's just unique to everyone. I can't just look at one specific area and everyone's house and say, you know, this is your intelligence area. Guys, it's specific to us because we all have different energy and that can actually be seen using your Chinese astrology. So again, even relationships, very much, you have to look at your personal energy to see what area in your home you could activate, you know, maybe for some different things. And it actually also matters, you know, where you're lacking in a relationship or you're having trouble attracting a partner, or you're having trouble, you know, even getting a date.

That's going to be a different solution to somebody, maybe that's having problems, you know, in a relationship they're currently in or you know, they can't get their partner make a commitment. See, it's not one size fits all, you know, one item cures everything. So let's try and look at it in a little bit different way. And after the super lengthy explanation, I'm going to, let's talk about these Feng Shui symbols. So coming to you from Feng Shui.com, which of course will link to down below.

Let's look at three popular symbols that are generally thought of for attracting live. All right. So here at States of Piony flowers, you're one of the most well known symbols for attracting romantic luck, but they can be very potent in a sensual sense. So overuse of them in an incorrect way can lead to dire consequences. Display them in the living room or bedroom and remove them when you found a romantic partner.

Oh, guys, I do not believe that putting Piony flowers up. I don't even know what to say about this. Piony flowers. It states here that displaying them can lead to affairs and relationship betrayal. So this is one of the reasons I don't love putting out, you know, suggesting items and stuff like that.

Because in what way, guys, would that in any way, lead to an affair. I just want to know how a flower can lead to an affair. So yeah. All right. The next one, guys, rose cords.

I actually love rose cords. This one of my favorites. I'm very attracted to it. I think it's just beautiful. I love pink.

And of course, I always associate it with that heart chakra, which I think is a pretty universal. So it says here that different crystals are associated with different aspects of life and that is true. I have learned that. The crystal easily outranks every other in terms of relationship luck. They're pink, beautiful, pretty and affordable.

Place of rose cords, it says on the bedside table or the living room. It says here, if you're trying to find your man's at work, then bring it to the office and place it in your work desk. I don't know if I ever recommend that. There's different ways to see if you can find a partner at work and then actually relates more to your Chinese astrology and where your husband element can be seen. It does say here crystals in general can be used to improve romance luck when placed in the southwest and that is where the Koon Trigram resides. So they're not wrong in that the Koon Trigram and the feminine or the mother is represented in the southwest. But again, this isn't universal for everybody. It's not a universal love palace or relationship palace because you actually have to look at your own astrology chart to see there's a bunch of different ways you can use that. And so if again, if you want to know where to attract a partner, there's some different things you you can look for, you know, where you're most likely to to meet somebody yet.

But yeah, other than that, I do love posting, putting out rose quartz and I like putting you know, a sum out in each room just so I can kind of have a visual reminder of, you know, love and to open my heart up. All right. So Mandarin Ducks is another very famous one that is, you know, generally whenever someone talks about a relationship, I see people say put two Mandarin Ducks. And again, I don't I don't know what they think the Mandarin Ducks are going to do. It says here that you can have a pair carved in rose quartz painted on a canvas framed in a picture and to display in the bedroom or living room.

And it says here that remember that for them to bring love connections that must be displayed as a male and female pair, I would think that if you want to use a symbol, you know, and you are probably in a traditional, you know, a love interest and you know, you can probably just put out two males or two females if you want it to use this as a symbol. Again, guys, Mandarin Ducks just placing these out is not going to attract a a love interest. So I would definitely check out those astrology and see which ones can be lucky and love this year because man, it's just this is a little bit tough for me because I'm so I'm very very cynical about these item placements. So to this website's credit to funchway.com's credit, it does state here that these funchway symbols of love that you should actually be aware when romance look arrived. So it says here often opportunities show up in our lives and we don't even notice them.

And a while back, I shared something on the social media site and it was talking, it was kind of directed towards, you know, basically like, you know, you're not going to find a partner or love interest unless they like break into your house, right? And so that is one thing that that I think people need to realize also. And I know when I was learning my date selection, my take in my class, that one of the teachers on there said that she did this funchway activation for one of her clients and that they, you know, she called her the next day and was like, well, nothing's happening. And so she asked her, well, have you gone out anywhere? You know, this was pre-COVID, right?

She asked her if she had gone out anywhere. And she said, no. And she asked her, you know, if she was interested in the UPS man, because that's the only man that's going to come knock it on your door. And I wanted to point that out also. So if you do use any of these symbols, like if you think, you know, let's place some symbols out and let's see if it, you know, shifts my mindset, makes me think about love, makes me think about wanting to attract a partner.

Then you still want to actually make sure, you know, get on that dating app, you want to make sure you, you know, you know, can go out on a date, you know, things like that. So don't be so quick to dismiss romantic opportunities or somebody that's interesting because you never know that, you know, you might actually like them. So that's another thing I want it to point out to take the initiative, take the action and maybe give interested parties a chance and, you know, shoot somebody that message back.
