So today I'm going to bring you a couple parables of Chinese just folk tales with a little bit of a moral to them. I'll put the link in the shown as for these. This one is from thought, code.com. And I'm going to hold off on the name until afterwards because this title gives it away.
In the Jin Dynasty, they're lived a man named Li Gong, who had a bold and uninhibited character and was very friendly. One day Li Gong sent for his close friend since the friend had not turned out for so long. At first sight, his friend Li Gong realized there must be something that had happened for his friend to make his friend have no peace of mind all the time. So he asked him what the matter was. It was all because the banquet you held in your home, he replied, at the banquet, you proposed a toast to me.
And just when I raised the glass, I noticed there was a little snake laying in the wine. And I felt particularly sick. Since then, I lay in bed and able to do anything. Li Gong was very puzzled. He didn't know what this man was talking about.
So he looked around and saw a bow with a painted snake hung on the wall of his room. Li Gong laid the table of the original place and asked his friend again to have a drink. When the glass was filled with wine, he pointed to the shape of the bow in the glass and asked his friend to see. His friend observed nervously. He said, well, well, that is what I saw last time.
It is the same snake. Li Gong laughed and took the bow off the wall. Can you see the snake anymore? He asked his friend was surprised to see the snake was no longer in the wine. Since the whole truth had come out, his friend recovered from his prolonged illness right away.
So to recap, he had a feast at his house. The friend came when he toasted his friend. His friend looked through his wine glass when he held it up and inverted in the glass or whatever looked like a snake was laying down. And it made him sick. And all through the power of suggestion through his mind, he remained ill for all that time.
So down at the bottom here, it says, for thousands of years, the story has been told to advise people not to be suspicious unnecessarily. It probably speaks a lot also to getting your facts straight and investigating something rather than just jumping to conclusions. The next one is just a little bit of a fun one. I'm not really sure what the moral is, but it's called Fish for the Moon in the Wall. One evening, a clever man went to fetch some water from a well to his surprise.
He looked into the wall and he found that the moon had sunk into the well and it was shining. Oh, good heavens. What a pity. He said the beautiful moon has dropped into the well. So he dashed home for a hook and he tied it with a rope for his bucket and then put it into the well to fish for the moon.
After some time for hunting for the moon, he was pleased to find something and would caught on his hook. He thought it must be the moon. So he pulled hard on the rope due to the excessive pulling the rope broke apart and he fell flat on his back. So while he was flat on his back, he noticed that the moon was high in the sky again. He sighed with emotion.
It has finally come back to its place. He thought what a good job. And he felt very happy and told whoever he met about the wonderment proudly without knowing he did something that was very impractical.
