Hey guys, welcome to the learn Feng Shui podcast where you'll learn Feng Shui from a classical point of view taking out the myth and superstition. So if you're interested in learning Feng Shui, Chinese astrology, all things Chinese and metaphysics as well as the superstitions and myths that connect it all, you'll enjoy learning fune with me. Hey guys, welcome to the learn Feng Shui podcast where ancient traditions meets modern living. I'm Candice Berlanga, certified Feng Shui practitioner and red ripping professional with the international Feng Shui guild. So we're here in April.

It's a time of renewal and with this changing season comes to a close the season of spring if you can believe that. These shifts in energy can impact our home and our well-being. In this episode, I'll be covering the monthly newsletter and energy update. We'll be exploring what's ahead for the month, including those April zodiac forecast, flying stars, and tips for staying healthy, as I usually do, but we'll also include a few simple outdoor funu tips to help clear out that stagnant energy and refresh your space for spring. Let's get into it.

All right, starting off, the month of the dragon begins April 4th. And that first solar cycle of energy, that little micro season or the jeti is starts April 4th and ends April 19th called clear and bright. This marks the beginning of what is called Ching Ming festival or the Chimuing festival and it's time for honoring ancestors. The period's actually considered to be inospicious for funu adjustments as it's a time of reflection rather than for change. So it's said you're supposed to wait until after this period to make any major shifts in your home.

So if you observe that maybe you want to consider that it's not really a time to be doing fune or engaging Feng Shui services. So I don't know I'll still be working April 19th through May 5th is grain rain and this corresponds closely with Mayday or Belain which is May 1st and it's the crossro point and it marks the seasons between the spring equinox and the summer solstice. This is time we start getting more rain and the trees and plants start to sprout a lot more. I've noticed that already here in Texas, we have a little bit of early spring. So, it kind of depends on where you're at.

Of course, southern hemisphere will be gearing up for cooler weather. This time of year, keeping healthy. You're supposed to keep your body moving and keep warm during this time. There's still a little bit of a chill in the air. Spring's a time where the yang energy is growing and we don't want to do anything that damages the internal warming chi.

According to asian medicine.org, or I'll link this in the show notes here. Something else to do during this solar term is to be active outdoors, get some more exercise. I'd like to get outside in my garden. It's time where I'll start putting my seedlings out. Remember, we're still in this wood phase, which represents the liver.

And so, you're supposed to keep your internal chi up by keeping your body moving. Remember that your exercise actually doesn't have to be very intense to be effective. A short walk or like I just mentioned some gardening will connect you with nature. It states that the abdomen is the location of many important internal organs. Likewise, it's the area where some of the most important channels of the body originate.

And in Chinese, these vessels are said to be the origin of three branches. For this exercise, it says to rub hands vigorously together to warm them and then place the warmed hands over your navl and slowly with moderate pressure rotate 50 times in one direction and then 50 times in the other direction. The exercise helps warm the center and expel cold and is especially appropriate for patients who are cold and depleted patients with clear nasal discharge or seasonal allergies. So, I'm going to try this for myself. I'm not even kidding.

The flip side of this is to be cautious of patients with uprising liver yang patterns or patterns of internal wind. Clear and bright is also a time to guard against hypertension and patients who are prone to this condition and these patients should certainly be counseledled to get some exercise as this is an effective adjunct therapy for hypertension. Get plenty of exercise especially if you have high blood pressure. Going into the month of the metal dragon, we get the hexog of unity. And of course, this is coming from the newsletter at learnf Feng Shui.com, which will be linked in the show notes.

Have a monthly newsletter there. If you have not checked that out yet, it has everything I talk about here. So, when we're looking at the metal dragon, we get this hexoggram of unity. And it's this hexoggram of heaven and earth. So, the unity hexog reflects balance and harmony.

strengthen relationships by reaching out whether through a message call or a shared meal. Small intentional actions can foster a sense of peace and connection. So that's my tip for the month. Since this is unity hexog, try to make peace, you know, make peace within your relationships or just make a connection. We talked about uh clear and bright already and the tomb sweeping festival.

weather trends. Temperatures still fluctuating and of course rain to various states throughout the US, which is pretty typical for this time of year. Let's go ahead and look at those funu tips for outdoor spaces. Also included in the newsletter here is Feng Shui tips for outdoor spaces. So with the winter gone, it's time to clear out that stagnant energy and refresh your surroundings.

You maybe feel the need to be outside a little more. It's just beautiful here where I live. It's actually kind of hot. I think we're gearing up for a pretty hot summer. Little outdoor upkeep can help your tree flow smoothly though and set the stage for the season of growth.

So, just some four simple tips here. Clear away dead leaves and debris. So, rake up the leaves, trim the branches, pick up any trash left over from winter, and create a clean, vibrant energy to help the chi flow. I know a lot of people aren't gardeners, but at least upkeep of your yard helps the chi flow around your space. Remember, the Feng Shui actually comes from our external environment.

And if the external environment is blocked and if there's a bunch of junk and clutter and crap outside our house, then that's creating a stagnant energy. Wash away the old. So, give sidewalks, patios, and driveways a quick rinse with a hose or broom. Good time, of course, we're starting to power wash our houses and stuff like that. Um, just be careful when you do that.

You knock some shingles off or you don't want to loosen anything up with that pressure. Uh, just remove that builtup dirt and grime. Helps refresh your space and get that energy flowing around your home. Uh, repair and refresh. So, check for broken fences, loose stones, worn out outdoor fixtures.

Just fixing small issues can prevent stuck or weekend chi in your space. I actually did this this past weekend. Our neighbors on one side moved out and the fence line actually um we have a wooden fence and so it faces their property, but my dogs will push on the fence because it's very deteriorated from I don't know if it's dry rot or if we had maybe some those prairie termites. It might have been something like that. I'm not able to repair it on my side.

So, I snuck over to the neighbor's house and I put a bunch of screws at the bottom of the fence and I replaced a bunch of missing pickets. Painting your door, um, repairing your doors, things like that. Things definitely will get weak or broken with the winter weather and stuff like that. So, now that the weather's getting nice, it's time to replace all that. Maybe even your roof.

If you've had some uh spring storms in your area, you might want to wait a little bit to make sure those storms have cleared. But, might be time for a new roof, too. Uh, check your outdoor lighting. So, replace burnt out bulbs on the porch, pathway lights, or decorative lanterns. Replace batteries as needed in the solar powered lighting.

You can order those batteries on Amazon. Good lighting ensures the smooth flow of energy and enhances safety around your home. And I've done that also, cleaning out those flower beds and stuff like that. But I think that goes without saying. Kind of goes with the leaves, clearing out the leaves and stuff like that.

So, all right, let's get into our zodiac forecast for the month of April. All right, looking at the zodiac signs most impacted by the energy of the dragon. So, remember, not every zodiac sign really has much of an interaction with the dragon. Not saying you won't feel some energies this month, but the uh dragon or that earth sign will not really be impacted unless you have a combination or a clash. Uh remember that you have four zodiac signs, one in the year, the month, the day, and the hour you're born.

The year represents your social circle, friends, and community. The month represents your career or parental relationships. The day is your health and your relationships. And the hour is your thoughts, feelings, emotions, and relationships with your children. Starting first with the grand jig, the tai soy of the month.

It's the dragon. So, we're going to look at these shinshaw stars to see where to focus our attention. A caution to you. Be careful of anxiety and overthinking, feeling lonely and selfisolating. Make sure you find some balance and be mindful instead of overindulging.

And of course, illness can be prevented by adapting a healthier lifestyle. Then you have the stars of sky happiness which can bring increase your investments or you help you overcome those feelings we just talked about. And then heavenly officer can aid in pushing through paperwork and getting approval for permits. It's a star that represents people working at an official level. So, if you've needed some help or something to be pushed through in that front, then if you're a dragon, you might find that happening for you this month.

So, hopefully that works out for you. The seasonal combination. So, the tiger, rabbit, and dragon all make a combination that represents the season of spring. So, if you're a tiger or a rabbit, you have the energy to make connections and network with others in your field or collaborate, expand your business or even market expansion and self-help and inner growth. It always shows a strong wealth potential to have a seasonal combination.

The three harmony is the dragon, rat, and the monkey. So if you have the rat or the monkey, you have the three combo for the month represents adaptability, wisdom, reflection cuz it's like water. So use energy to be like water like Bruce Lee said. So move around obstacles rather than resisting them. If you encounter challenges, try shifting your approach or your perspective and exploring alternative paths instead of pushing through forcefully.

You can reflect and strategize. Take time for self-reflection and long-term planning. Also, the energy supports that. Strengthen your connections. Just like we talked about with this hexog of connection and unity, this energy supports communication.

So, reach out to people who inspire or support you. Nurture your existing bonds and try to stay open to forming new connections. The combo six or the secret friend is the rooster which represents precision, action, and communication. Make sure you don't miscommunicate. Sometimes it's about just being louder than the others.

So, take the time to map out your big picture ideas and break them into smaller actionable tasks. Refine your skills. You can pick up an area of expertise you want to sharpen and commit to consistent practice. Um, speaking with confidence, so have an important conversation and pitch your ideas or share your thoughts openly. And of course, organize your space or schedule something in and take an action.

You can launch a project or make a life change. I'll consider that because I have a rooster clash. The dog I also have a dog. So, what's in store for me this month? The dog clashes with the dragon in April.

And remember that a combination will take presence over a clash. And during the clash, you can use the opposing energy to make a change. And this is when you can use the fune in your house. So, you can use the support of the horse in the south or the goat in the southwest to take away clashing energy. and inspire you.

All right, let's look at the flying stars for the month. All right, looking at the flying stars. Remember, flying stars 1 4 6 8 9. They're considered positive, but can sometimes present a challenge if they meet with a negative yearly sector or star. And we see a little bit of that this month.

We'll get into that in a second. Let's start with flying star number eight, the wall star. Everybody's favorite. goes to the southeast or to gu four. So the eighth monthly flying star joins the one yearly flying star in the southeast.

This creates a strong combination for wealth, wisdom, and career growth. If you're a gu four, be mindful of minor accidents or decision fatigue, overwork, long hours, things like that. Uh make sure you have some clear financial planning to budget out your month. That would be very beneficial for you. And you can enhance it by spending time working in the sector to activate the wealth potential.

You can add a fan or subtle fire elements like a candle or lamp to harmonize the energy and support prosperity and clarity. I hope you think a little bit this month there. Flying star number one, the authority star goes to the north west. This is a case where the one star joins the yearly three star. So it kind of creates this mix of like this leadership, ambition, and strategic thinking, but might also lead to some sort of struggle with authority.

maybe a disagreement or maybe you have the tendency to be overly assertive, but the one water star does help to ease this tension and foster some communication, maybe problem solving. So, that could be good. If you're a gu 6, just be mindful of power struggles or challenges with authority figures. Focus on collaboration rather than control to avoid unnecessary conflict. You can enhance it by spending time in the sector.

Enhance with a lamp or fan force smooth interactions and to encourage some clarity. Flying star number four, the academy star goes to the guine in the south and the monthly fourstar combines with the yearly six-star supports financial success, leadership and learning opportunities. So the energy can be ideal for career advancement and academic pursuits. You can focus on career growth or personal development if you're a guan nine and stay open to new opportunities. You can enhance it by spending time in the sector, doing some self-help or learning, and placing a fan or a lamp activation in the area.

The flying star number six, luck star, goes to the southwest. This monthly six-star combines with a yearly eight star, and it supports wealth, prosperity, authority. So, it makes it an excellent time for business growth, career advancement, or financial gain, and acquiring assets. If you're a guu, this is favorable time to focus on building your wealth and career. Embrace opportunities that allow you to take a leadership role or strengthen your financial foundation and again just that acquiring assets.

Good time for buying properties. Enhance it by spending time using the lamps or lighting, a fan or a radio. It can help boost the positive energy and maximize the wealth and prosperity. Flying star number nine, spiritual and happiness star goes to the center. Remember this is not a gua from my school of thought, my perspective.

And so this monthly nine star goes to the center. just sets the tone for the month and it brings the energy of transformation, growth and recognition, even expansion. So, it encourages visibility and success making it a time for both personal and collective progress. It's a month to focus on new beginnings and embrace new opportunities for growth. Looking at the negative stars we want to cure for the month here, a flying star number two, the illness star goes to the west and gua 7.

The monthly two star joins the yearly fourstar. And so the four star supports learning and creativity, but the two star can bring fatigue, minor health concerns, and it might be related to stress. So if you're a gu seven, prioritize rest and well-being, be mindful of overworking yourself and maintain a balanced lifestyle. Visit the doctor for any lingering health issues. And I sleep here, so I'm going have to put some kind of saltwater cure here.

And that's how you can manage it. You know, just address your health concerns. Put your saltwater cure. You can place metal but you know the two stars illness star is the earth energy and when it goes to the metal sector gu six and seven it's kind of controlled so I don't really think it'll be too much of an issue maybe just sleep here like I said I sleep there so I'll put a small cure up flying star number three the coral summer or conflict star goes to the eight to the northeast joins the yearly five star that kind of creates a challenging energy that may bring obstacles disputes and instability The combination could lead to miscommunication, setback or unexpected difficulties. So making this the sector difficult.

So just approach it with caution especially if you sleep here at your front doors here. If you're a gu be mindful of conflicts and delays. So stay patient in arguments. Avoid unnecessary arguments or risky decisions during the month. So just don't spend any time here.

I don't really think it needs to be cured. Um but you can if you'd like to. You can place your preferred cure there. Flagst number five, disaster star goes to the north. This is an area where it can create a little bit of volatile combination.

So you're having a couple things happen here. When the five star, which is a earth energy, goes to the north, which is a water energy. It's like muddy water can create some illnesses. But with that seven there, it it's like a volatile combination to bring obstacles, mishaps, or even conflict that could include like gossip or slander. Uh leg legal issues.

So the parent can increase risk of accidents, also financial loss and misunderstanding. So just avoid the sector if you're a gu one. Just be careful with your finances and communication. Avoid unnecessary risks and stay mindful of potential conflicts and you can manage it by using metal objects. You can place a saltwater cure here or your preferred item to help neutralize the unstable energy.

Flying star number seven goes to Gua 3 in the east and this is a legal and dispute star kind of what we talked about a minute ago but it's joining the 9year star in the east. So creating potential volatility while the nine star amplifies recognition opportunity. That seven star can bring conflicts and misunderstanding or even financial loss if not managed properly. Um if you're a gu three just be mindful of miscommunication or impulsive decisions and think before you speak to avoid unnecessary arguments. And we can manage or mitigate this by spending less time in the sector.

Looking at areas we want to avoid renovation in. Um, let's avoid renovation in the west with the two illness star and the north with the five yellow star and the northeast with the yearly five yellow. But we're also going to avoid the month breakers which are the dog in the northwest. Uh we're still avoiding the east and southeast for renovations. So that only leaves the south and southwest.

But again, sometimes these areas can be renovated with date and time selection. And if you are above ground level, you don't really have to worry about the shaws. It's mostly about the flying stars. If you need help with that, just shoot me a message. All right, guys.
