Hey guys, welcome to Learn Feng Shui, where you'll learn Feng Shui from a classical point of view taken out the myth and superstition. If you like weekly tips as well as fun folklore tales, you'll enjoy learning Feng Shui with me. Hey guys, part one of Feng Shui Flictions for the Year of the Tiger. Today we're going to talk about the Southwest and the center of your home. Hey guys, I don't want to be too lengthy about talking about, I don't really want to make announcements and stuff like that.
So some changes to the podcast though, because I want to cut back on announcements and what I have going on, I feel like it kind of takes away from the actual learning part of the podcast and you can learn Feng Shui as in the name. And so I think whatever I get off track and I start talking about, you know, some things I have gone on or what I offer, it kind of distracts a little bit from what I'm trying to teach. It takes away from that. And so if you would like to just go sign up for emails in the link below. There's a link tree link and it has like all the email stuff, you know, social media and stuff.
And that's always going to be at the bottom. If you missed this month's energy update, I did not do a podcast and energy update because me and my whole family got COVID. And I was not able to talk last week. So I was ready to get back to work. And I was excited to bring to you the new, you know, new year energy, the January energy finishing out the year of the ox.
And I can breathe last week. So I'm still looking just so pleased. I'm okay. But I'm excited to talk about the upcoming year of the tiger. So again, I'm the only add I'm going to actually leave in is the ad from anchor because I mean that just helps me out a little bit with, you know, with some cost.
If you listen to that ad, so that ad will remain a place. But other than that, if you want to get updated on things, go check out that and sign up for that email for that newsletter. All right, let's get into some of the and all species areas of the year of the tiger. So and before I start out with that, you're of the tiger actually begins February 4th. Whenever you listen to that monthly energy updates, you'll come in and you'll hear me say like, you know, the jet ski cycle, it starts, you know, January 4th, February 4th, whatever.
And that solar cycle is the one that commences what is called the beginning of spring and the event notice Lee tune, which brings in the new animal sign for the year. So even though lunar new year is on February 1st, this year, it begins February 1st and observe is observed through the 15th. That's actually based on the lunar new year, which is the second new moon after the winter solstice. So again, this date is different from the solar cycle, which brings an animal sign of the year. Just a little bit of a date difference there.
So if you'll notice, sometimes the lunar new year celebrated as early as January, you know, and as late as mid mid February. So most start out was one of the toughest sectors in your home for the year, which is going to be the Southwest. So the Southwest has a number of negative energies coming into it. The whole area is not affected. And most notably, I think what most people are kind of concerned about is the flying star number two will start flying stars.
So the flying star number two is one that is said to have, you know, cause illness. It's said to be inauspicious. However, that also depends on where it lands within your home. It depends on your home's energy. What kind of energy of your house is receiving in the Southwest?
And one of the most notable things you can do to kind of look and see as this energy is going to affect you negatively is to look and see if there's positive land forms or land formation outside of your South. West of your home. So, you know, and pretty and pretty close proximity. So I wouldn't look too far out, you know, but, you know, is the outside of your house tidy and clean, you know, kind of looking at our, at our. The micro of our environment looking at the area and that sector and the external area of our home, you know, is there trash out there is anything need to be picked up?
Is it in disrepair? Because you're not going to really want to make repairs after February and and overly activate that area. In the grand scheme of things, you know, say in the distance or maybe in somewhere in proximity, you can see that the area to the Southwest of your home has like a lake or a park or a nice spacious area or a good positive land formation. So this actually makes the area, you know, not as bad. So, you know, if there's some different factors there, but honestly, the two star is not an energy I would worry about too much.
Remember, this year every single flying star is going back to their natal palace. Remember these flying stars actually originate from a palace and then they fly around. So the two star is actually native to the Southwest. So I don't think it really is really going to have the strength to cause issues in the Southwest. So don't worry about it and don't think about it too much.
One thing you can do is you can place a metal weights in the area like literally a metal weight that you would use to exercise with alternatively some people do like to put coins, you know, those those hanging coins with the little red tassels on them. Some people do use those and some people say they work. It's also an area you can place those saltwater cures if you're wanting to use a saltwater cure. I've gotten away from using them just because I don't really feel like they're effective. It's effective as I'm placing a real metal in the area.
So I literally just have some weights that we use for like exercise and I just moved them around each year and in place them, you know, to kind of negate that energy. Now the Southwest, though, one of the more concerning things about the Southwest is actually going to be the sub sector of Southwest three. So remember, we have our sectors and our home. We have our palaces and our laws, you know, which coordinate with the directions. However, however, those are actually broken down into three different sub sectors and 15 degree increments.
So the sub sector of Southwest three. And if you don't understand this, you can kind of put it out of your brain for right now. But this is also housing what is called the year breaker. So it is the animal sign of the monkey in that area. It's the specific area that governs that animal sign.
And so sitting in all position to our tiger this year is the monkey. They oppose each other and they are what are called a clash animals. And so they said in all position to each other. And so again, having that two star there combined with what is called the year breaker and the animal sign is, it's going to be negative. We're not going to want to activate the area.
And I think probably most and auspicious and most unlucky is an energy that I've started incorporating into my calculations this past year, learning with the Feng Shui Master I'm learning with. And he practices learning some sorry, not learning something he practices. And observes the energy that is called a five tiger Shaw. And so the five tiger Shaw affects the area also of Southwest three this coming up year. And so there's there's a couple different areas and effects which I'll come to in a minute, but particularly Southwest three, which is the degrees between 232.5.
And 247.5 degrees Southwest within your home will be particularly negative. Again, you know, if you're already sleeping in the area, if you already have an important, you know, part of your home here, don't really worry about that too much. But an established pattern of energy or she is not going to affect you the way it is if you decide you want to renovate and say if your kitchen is there, you want to put in a whole new kitchen. So a really avoid the renovations in the area, you know, hacking drilling, just pulling up floors, renovating, you know, replacing the shingles on the outside of the house, you know, things like that that are going to be a really big trigger of energy on highly suggest you. Wait for the next year, some of the energies are not as negative and some of them you can kind of calm, but what I have learned is that this one from what is called the five tiger Shaw cannot be like what is what is called cured or cannot be what is called you know fixed.
And so there's not something you can place there for that particular energy is just to energy that can be very aggressive if it is overly triggered so again if you're in the area don't even worry about it, but definitely do not do renovations in the Southwest this year. So another concerning area of our home, which I really don't talk too much about is actually the center of our home, so this is called the heavenly heart of our home and it literally represents the center of our body in some styles of fung sh way they use the center to represent health and the health aspect and so it is actually very important to us so for that reason, just starting out and looking at what is in the center of your home is going to give you a big clue into whether or not the incoming energy, which is the fly start. Number five will affect you so a lot of times what happens is if you if you have incorrect forms or incorrect placement of something, especially forms you know what happens is a negative energy comes in for the year and it's aggravated by negative features and so negative features for the center of your home would be if water is placed there, if you have a fireplace or a stove your kitchen is located here. Or if you have stairs here and especially if it's a spiral staircase room, but again it represents the center of our body or heavenly heart and it should be a nice spacious open area, if you have a room here or a bathroom here, it do a really good job at keeping the bathroom in the restroom clean this year. Some people like to put course these all bowls on the toilet and change it out every few days because it absorbs some of the negative ions or negative energy in the area.
And then of course if it's a storage area or something like that, just make sure the areas you cluttered and cleaned out before February comes in. This is another area you can use metal for the year so the metal it's part of the element cycle. It actually you know degenerates earth or it breaks down earth or controls it. It's all a lot of times people will place either metal weights just like in the southwest or you can do that that six coins with the tassel on it and place that somewhere in the center of your home. That may be a little bit easier to do than placing weights down and honestly I personally don't think that's an energy that is supposed to be controlled this year.
I personally don't find it bad unless you do have those negative forms within your home. You can also put out the bowl of sea salt or like it was called a salt water cure which is basically just salt water and or sorry salt water. So some people just like to do that. One thing to note about this interview home is that the area you know again the five star that everything's moving back to its natal palace. The five star is actually it comes from the center of your home.
It's house there that's its natal house you know it comes from there. And so I've actually learned that this is one of the times that it can possibly just be a positive attribute sometimes the five star can be volatile. But honestly I don't think it's as concerning as the energy we're getting from that five tiger Sean the southwest and part of the west which I'll talk about on next week's episode. One other thing that I do want you to note is that I've also learned that when you have an established pattern of tea or energy in an area. It does not disrupt or overly activate the incoming energies when they shift for the year.
And so again it's really going to be things like big renovations you know are you replacing a floor in your home you know. We don't generally do a lot to the center of our home unless you have a bathroom or kitchen or something there. But you know this is just the year where you're not going to want to renovate a lot, particularly the southwest and the center. Other than that if you're sleeping in the area or if you're just generally using the area I wouldn't I wouldn't even worry about it. I apologize for the length of this podcast I'm probably going to break up the in all species areas into two parts and the auspicious areas into two parts just to cut down on the amount of information you're getting and I'm going to for go a folklore tale over the next few weeks because I'm just having such a hard time recording between my cough and some other health issues I've just been having.
And so it'll probably be some abbreviated episodes which is part of information for the year of the water tiger and I do want to do some stuff with animal signs because I've I'm doing a presentation for a Chinese New Year with some other practitioners and I'm excited to include some of that also in into what I'm going to cover in February so going in a February and looking at the look of the zodiac signs for the year. And using something called the symbolic star and so that's always a fun one and it's always kind of a fun little way to preview the upcoming year.
