February Energy Update

Feng Shui podcast for Ancient Tradition meets Modern Living. And each week we'll cover a different aspect of Feng Shui or Chinese metaphysics today. We're gonna cover a little bit of everything. I am Candice Berlanga your host for today's episode and actually every episode. Today we're gonna look at the energy for the month of February.

We're gonna move into the month of the horse this month. So what does that mean for us energetically? What can we do to stay healthy moving into this spring season? Yeah, it'll be spring season. Believe it or not, let's find out.

Find out why in just a minute. We're also gonna look at Feng Shui, Flying Stars and zodiac forecast for the month. Let's get into. Starting February 3rd through February 18th, that is the solar term of Lee Choon, the first 15 day solar cycle of energy that governs the month of February. It translates into beginning of spring and it does mark the change of that zodiac sign.

So by time you hear this will officially be moved into the year of the horse. Remember this does differ from the lunar New Year, which occurs around the 17th or so. I covered this in a previous episode. I can't remember if it was last episode or the one before that where I talked about the energy shifts for the year and kind of what occurs during that time. That marks the lunar calendar, but this right here marks the solar calendar and this is what determines the New Zodiac signs.

This cross-quarter point does mark the halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox and marks that shift into the spring time. It's a part when nature awakens vitality returns and Yang energy begins to rise even though we might not see it in the plant life yet. This is a time when cold weather trees will start to bloom. We'll see cherry blossoms. We'll see plum blossoms.

And that is the energy rising. February 18th through March 5th is the solar cycle of grain rain second in the month. The cheese cycle if that makes difference to you. What can we do to stay healthy during this time? Huh?

The first solar term is the beginning of spring. Nature awakens vitality returns and Yang energy does begin to rise. We see it in nature not so much yet, but we might start seeing a little bit of green depending how far south you are. Usually things will start to kind of bloom a little bit. It is depending.

We are probably going to get some late freezes, which we'll talk about in just a second with the weather. What you want to do to stay healthy during this time, liver and digestion, you want to make sure you support your liver during this time. The spring does connect to the liver. So you want to soothe your liver or Qi and support your spleen and stomach help with digestion. You can do things like drinking marshmallow tea.

Marshmallow is actually an herb if you don't know that. Very soothing coating, slippery elm. Just your sleep also. Go to sleep early, rise early. I mean, I fell asleep at 9 p.m.

last night and I. Was kind of awake by 5. So not that early. You don't have to do that, but I could feel it. I don't know why.

Still that earlier sleep with the growing daylight helps with circulation also. Make sure you're eliminating your bowels in the morning. There is this whole trend on TikTok where they say be Chinese, right? Your itch was a channel. Your inner Chinese.

At least it's come across from my algorithm. I don't know. But drinking a warm cup of water in the morning. It really helps you go the restroom. People are saying this is a little bit aggressive.

So if you're not used to it. Maybe a warm up. A warm cup of tea. Also after that, a light diet also choosing nourishing soups, avoiding really greasy, overly sour foods. Includes seasonal vegetables.

Things cold weather fruits like radishes, leafy greens. They all are going to help Chiefa remember that the fruit and vegetables that we have that connect to this time of year are said to take care of the food. They're taking the key of the season in which they grow. It's supposed to take in the key of winter and spring and bring in water and wood energy. Protect your mood and stress by again supporting your liver.

It's linked to the motions of anger. So try to be positive. Try to loosen up lighten up a little bit. Now sometimes people are too damn stiff. I definitely feel that sometimes.

Sometimes I'm grumpy and irritable. So try to release some of that. And yesterday I spent a little bit of time outdoors. Even though it's cold, bundle up a little bit. Keep your midsection warm.

Gonna want to protect your lungs and your kidneys. So maybe a vest or just that middle section there. A little tank top or something else. Keep the core warm. And again, maybe a gentle liver cleanse or something.

Another thing you can eat bamboo shoots spring vegetables like I just talked about. Stay active again. Light walking Tai Chi something to help circulation. If you have a walking pad walk on that but honestly right now it's a great time to try and get outside even though it's cold. Even if it's snowy we just had this cold snap.

I was still outside shoveling snow and you warm up pretty quick don't go outside when it's an active storm. But when it's a sunny day, even if it's cold, sitting the sun for a few minutes, bundle up maybe take a short little walk or something. Just attune into the nature's line of the season, sleep, diet exercise, all the help with the days warming up. A little bit of weather lore for you speaking of the weather and the coldness. I'm recording this on Groundhog's Day.

What is Groundhog's Day? If you don't live in the US it's a day where we use weather lore to see if we're gonna get six more weeks of winter. I don't know if this overseas or just in the US we actually have a Groundhog that predicts our weather. That's right, Punxatani Phil is probably one of the most popular weather predictors in modern times anyway. He did see his shadow today which means we're supposed to get six more weeks of winter so the annual Groundhog ceremony usually held the second day.

If everywhere it took place in front of thousands of spectators on Monday morning at Gollars-Nob in Punxatani, Pennsylvania. About 80 miles northeast of Pittsburgh fills prediction of a longer winter's not uncommon and he did share the same one last year. In total he's seen his shadow 110 times. So I guess it would be doing this for 110 years. So Groundhog's Day is celebrated annually.

It's not a federal holiday here but it notably marks the day the famed Groundhog Punxatani Phil makes weather predictions. In Texas we do it a little bit different. Let me tell you we actually have a Armadillo that predicts the weather. His name is BKVBob. I'm gonna put all these links in the show notes.

Well the rest of the US may listen to the Groundhog named Punxatani Phil for weather predictions deep in the heart of Texas. We side with the meteorologically attuned Armadillo BKVB. Armadillos are so cute if you've never seen one, it's our state animal and they're adorable. Prior to February 2nd event in West Pole Ranch in BKV Texas to the delight of onlookers Bob signaled he did see his shadow. The weather predicting Armadillo is not the only weather predictor we have in Texas.

Beaumont Texas big owl is also a weather predictor a 94 year old nearly 14 foot long alligator in Gator County Adventure Park. He uses a different method if he is present with a plate of chicken and is said if he takes a bite Texas will have an early spring while Lubbock which is my neck of the woods more West Texas has peridog Pete who lives in peridog town in McKenzie Park. Pete follows the tradition of the Groundhog seeing a shadow so a peridog is much like a groundhog just a little skinnier. Very cute they are actually invasive and they live in front of the Walmart by my home. There's that what do you have in your neck of the woods like I'd be interested to know so this actually comes from the weather lore where if it is sunny outside on a certain which would be February 2nd for here for the US.

If it's sunny in your area you will have a six more weeks of winter because if it's sunny the groundhog will see a shadow. But if it is cloudy in your area the groundhog will not see a shadow which predicts an early spring and that really that comes from the weather lore. There are certain days that you look at if it's cloudy that day if it's bad weather rainy cold then that kind of predicts that the weather will shift. I don't really know why that works. It's so it's opposite but if it's sunny in nice that day that usually will predict bad weather later on.

So there's your little bit of weather lore for this episode. Alright let's get into the news letter and look at the energy tone for the month of February. Alright looking at the month of February the metal tiger guys first month of the year the horse going in February it's governed by the fire hexagram number 30 bringing illumination visibility and fast movie momentum. Pairing with the energy of the metal tiger and amplifying it with the fire horse year not a subtle month. One thing's begin they're going to move quickly in what we have seen forming beneath the surface is more likely to be seen named or even called out fire is not reckless fire.

It's also called clinging fire it relies on what attaches to it meaning momentum builds best when there is structure and alignment beneath it. Focus early in the month matters as paste accelerates you'll want sustainable progress and on page two of the newsletter linked below the substack. I put some temps here for building momentum without burning out so since it carries a strong momentum. The fire can only sustain itself when built correctly and I kind of have to insight will build a fire recently I was reminded that rushing the process doesn't make it burn brighter. It can put it out check out the link in the show notes there for some tips for maintaining momentum without burning out in February if I included I think it would be too much plus I think it incentivizes you guys to go give it a little read subscribe on the substack okay again the weather trend time with a weather cycle usually sees colder temps despite its name both are marked by moisture rain snow and ice both start spring and rain water.

I'm sure you guys are the best here as a metal tiger so I'm more moisture during this year so the southern hemisphere I have a few listeners there in the southern hemisphere so shout out to you guys. I know you guys are into summer season I think you might experience a little cooler temperatures just depending on where you're at. What you shall see let me know. Alright guys let's get into the zodiac forecast for the month. Science is first month of the year of the horrors how's it going to impact you well it depends where does it fall in your natal chart remember we have 4 zodiac signs in our natal chart members not just the year like to this year's the year of the horse right.

It's the year the month the day and even the hour that you're born each is governed by different zodiac sign. The year represents your friends group social circle and community if it impacts there might impact your social life okay. And the month represents your career or in a relationship sometimes your health your health can be packed a little bit sometimes. The day that definitely represents your health or romantic relationships and the way you see yourself the hour represents children thoughts and emotions. And if you have a down line your subordinates so it can impact their zodiac signs are most impacted not every zodiac signs going to feel it really this month sometimes there's not much of impact you might feel more of what they call the heaven stem so if you know what that is.

Then you look at that if not then don't worry about it. I don't want to add too much layers here. Alright so this month the month of the tiger February comes in hot as the zodiac shifts the horse forms a combination with the tiger increases fire energy. This can bring recognition financial opportunity and strong motivation while the energy affects the month overall tiger will definitely feel it throughout the entire year. I did not do a yearly forecast I've had people asking guys I struggled so hard last year just to even get my few episodes that I've got out so unfortunately I don't have plans to do a zodiac forecast for the year I usually do those auxiliary stars but I mean I don't know I'll see where it takes me but damn it's been a it's been a rough you guys it's been a rough you know I do talk about the grand Duke and look at some of those stars the heavenly horse is one that can benefit you study call all support travel learning and the life so it's a good year for you to do that.

The earth Shaw and Sky Warrior worn tiger also to be cautious during travel those stay away and watch weather reports avoid situations where you can be taken advantage of because those energies represent that especially this month. Okay and this year it's what they call a Sky Horse the horse is a Sky Horse so it could just mean travel and stuff like that. A seasonal combination tiger rabbit and dragon so tiger rabbit dragon all form season of spring and wood energy support growth learning and for progress start a new habit class or project that supports growth if you have the tiger the bunny rabbit and the dragon. You know take one clear step towards something that has been sold so if you feel like you need to revisit a project this time for that to grow and gentle movement time outdoors activate spring wood energy and again keep your anger and check because that does represent like we talked about the liver and anger you know the emotion of anger trying not to stress so much you know again lighten it that's what I keep hearing is just like lighten up sometimes we see a lighten up a little bit. Through harmony is the dog tiger horse this forms fire frame sports inspiration visibility recognition confidence and advancement energy favors taken initiative and being seen for your efforts moving forward towards gold towards your goal with that forward momentum so take visible action puts your work ideas in front of others if you feel like you want to present something to people make sure you do that this month it favors and support you this month.

Act on inspiration quickly to build fire momentum step in the leadership or advocate for yourself with confidence so you can do that secret friend pig combo of six the pig brings supportive cooperative energy similar to the seasonal combination though it's a little bit softer influence it is wood energy supports steady progress and behind the scenes help. So accept support collaboration instead of pushing forward alone focus on steady progress rather than just the quick results remember one step at a time you know that's how you get their handle important matters quietly or behind the scenes to so it's that kind of quiet energy that help. The monkey you're gonna have a clash in February so remember about a clash when you see one you can use it for ending bad habits traveling bring enclosure and endings in your relationships maybe you want to start a diet or new exercise routine you know a split smoking it's really good for that you can use supportive fun sway by using your zodiac signs within your home remember the southeast and north sector combined with you so you're actually going to have a combination of with the dragon or the rat you could use those three zodiac signs to take away your clash to spend time there you put activation there we'll look at those flying stars in a minute a north should be quite good. I remember even though it offices the three killings for the year that's not activated unless you do renovations are digging so let's look at how you can use that getting to the flying stars for the month of February. Flying stars for the month of February which ones are good which ones are bad sometimes they're both positive stars generally for six eight nine remember you don't have to use all these you can enhance the sector just for the short term for the month you can activate the sector and use it for that energy that can support your goal over the function activation remember start number one wisdom career intelligence creativity for is going to be romance learning and academic purposes six authority leadership and boss energy if you're a boss it's good.

Flying star eight wealth opportunity growth and investments nine spiritual happiness sales and even recognition can't use it on this month let's see why okay flying star eight goes to the center did you know that each February either begins with the flying star two five or eight in the center just the way it goes I don't know okay so this month of flying star number eight goes to the center remember from my perspective it's not a guile you can't really activate or use it eight one combination remember that one star. For the year goes there forms a little combination that favor stability built over time rather than some immediate payoff star eight is a little bit past its peak remember it's waning we're in period nine now the vibrant energy is going to be that nine and the South sector but wealth with eight stars no longer fast and loud and quick shows up through careful planning accumulated knowledge and positioning the energy supports a laying foundations that mature later especially when you're using a learn strategy long term security. Over short term winds number nine star is more the short term winds I did a whole podcast about this to I talked about period nine update right look that wealth energy during this time really what does this mean for us for the month kind of sets the tone I think I mean I think we're going to recover a little bit financially this year then what it's been in the past as the predictions kind of state I think that we can start seeing that this year remember it's a lot of fire energy coming in if fire is your wealth element then you could benefit greatly from that this year so I think just think some more opportunity just globally okay again a kind of stabilizing real estate market I would hope okay. Flowing sword number one goes to the west guass seven it forms a combination one three combination three for the year a little bit of conflict there could bring movement and mental activity to the west encouraging ideas communication remember that one star is good for that without the strong women though. The energy is usable neutral creating a little activity without clear direction sometimes we feel a little restless rather than decisive or productive that one that water energy the one star can aggravate the three star so.

If you're a boss seven. Conversation overthinking sometimes challenges a little anger aggression so watch out for that tendency to engage mentally without fully landing. On decisions you know kind of thinking. A little bit decision making is important rather than reaction okay enhance the area for the month the metal should support the water energy there spending time here it can add to career advancement again just be careful of the aggression that could be with a yearly three star conflict so be careful of that a little tricky energies are some good and some bad to be cautious that flying star for is probably one of the sectors for the month in the north. Mix a combo of 10 remember the combo of 10 usually good study progress clear thinking strategic planning energy encourages productive action learning thoughtful decision making could be some wealth opportunity there helping ideas projects move forward with momentum your.

Qual one favorable influence enhancing focus clarity and organization efforts made here will more than likely bear fruit over time making it excellent period for studying planning the groundwork for future opportunities can enhance it. You don't want to put water in the sector you can work in study here metal keeps energy balance and harmonious in the. Water energy of the sector can help feed that but just spending time there studying there should be quite good for the month like start number six lex star moves to the east the three forms of six accommodation fairly fairly good. Strong supportive energy opportunity recognition progress you know tangible progress you'll be able to see it the pairing encourages steady achievement and constructive action making it a very favorable. For initiatives that build wealth opportunity long term stability investments do some investing here you know contracts good for that the sign contracts in this area so remember it's just work in spending time here lighting radio speaker fan to move the key is how you activate it your.

All three energy can support confidence leadership and practical achievement as well as. Your investment opportunity so you know if you're investing in something this month it's a fairly good month do that efforts will likely to be notice and reward it momentum going to those who act carefully and strategically lighting lamp also radio in the area fan can all activate the area. We want to avoid activating negative flying stars for the month a to five are generally the most negative seven and nine it just depends on where they land okay so remember they could be neutral let's take a look at what we're dealing with here. For the month which areas are the best south west little challenging this month five seven bring some caution potential tension disputes so now I'm second indicate like a surgery or something like that so if your bedrooms here front doors here you're going to want to look here there. Can feel heavy unpredictable you know sometimes I could be some legal action you know if you're a go to this combination amplify worry conflict obstacles again just the legal.

Aspective things you know there's need for careful planning patients and avoid in case you decisions as outcomes may otherwise be more difficult to manage than you know starting cutting it off at the head I suppose so try manage before it's out of control that makes sense earth sector. Remember you have the five earth star or seven metal star for the year it honestly can be in kind of a irritated you know energy stabilize it or you can put metal coins will do gold there for the month keeping the area orderly clutter free you know I don't know if I'll have much impact honestly keep it you know if you like the willow board if you like this I would do one with seven coins set of six I would do seven coins or a metal plate metal weight there for the year you can do salt care if you'd like to totally up to you I don't really love placing the salt care in every sector use it a little bit sparingly okay.
